10 Strangest Natural Phenomena

1. Old Faithful
Yellowstone is famous geyser in the world who because of the eruption of consistency almost every hour. Up to 8400 gallons of boiling hot water shot up into the sky reaching heights of more than 100 feet. Yellowstone was first discovered in 1870 and since then more than 30,000 eruptions have been recorded. This fountain was visited by thousands of tourists every year.



2. Kelimutu
Kelimutu mountain is a volcano located on the island of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia. The location of this mountain village precisely in pemo, kelimutu district, district ende. This mountain has three crater lakes on top. The lake is known by the name of the lake three colors because it has three different colors, namely red, blue, and white. Even so, the colors are always changing over time.
Lake or Tiwu kelimutu is shared by the three sections corresponding to the color - the color that is in the lake. Blue lake or "Tiwu Nuwa fai muri koo" is a gathering place for the souls of young people who have died. Lake of the red or "Tiwu ata polo" is a gathering place for the souls of the dead and as long as he lived always commit a crime / magick. While the lake is white or "Tiwu Ata Mbupu" is a gathering place for the souls of parents who have died.


 


3. Surtsey
August 1883 on the island of Krakatoa disappeared forever from a single explosion. Exactly 80 years later a new volcanic island appeared in place of the sea. Found that this is caused by a series of violent volcanic eruption continues under the sea south of Iceland, surtsey or "island surtur". In just two days of lava and scoria have been thrown to the surface causes the island to form, measured third of a mile from end to end.



4. Dead Sea
As a person in the picture (below) shows very easily float in the ocean off and read the newspaper. The reason for this is that the dead sea salts contain adequate 25% (normal sea water is about 4-6). Clearly there is no marine life can live in the sea to die. Dead sea, not only the lowest place on the planet but also the hottest, because part of it there is a volcano.
 




5. Pertified Forest
Located from Arizona I-40 highway, far into the desert between Holbrook and Navajo are the Petrified Forest or reply petrified forest. It consists of the fossil forest of fallen trees, mostly arizonicum Araucarioxylon, ancient conifer species, which have been mineralized into chalcedony and quartz. This process occurs after the dead fallen trees are absorbed by the mineral content of the sediments in which they fell. Basically means that the wood of the tree eventually turned into stone.




6. Giant Causeway 
Only Ireland is a world heritage area which is covered in this giant basalt columns and stone. 38,000 stone columns created after a volcanic eruption about 60 million years ago. The lava cooled quickly leave this column sightly behind. Locals prefer to tell another story kpada tourists. They say that Fionn MacCumhaill (pronounced Finn McCool) makes the area by throwing large chunks of the cliff down to create a collection of stones so he could get to his girlfriend on Hebridean island of Staffa, or to walk to Scotland to fight the Scottish giant, Benandonner.



7. Pitch Lake
Pitch Lake or Lake Asphalt is one of the biggest tourist attraction in Trinidad, visited by 20,000 visitors per year. Unlike other lakes in the world this one is filled with the mixture, a thick asphalt, clay and salt water. It includes more than 100 hectares and has been used for asphalt, since Sir Walter Rayleigh first take some asphalt to caulk his ship timber in 1595. Not surprisingly, there is no life living in this fluid. 



8. General Sherman
General Sherman is the name for the Giant Sequoia trees found in the Giant Forest, Sequoia National Park, USA. Trees are an estimated age of 2,200 years is the biggest tree on earth with the size of the body volume of 1487 m³ (2002).The name of this tree is taken from the name of a leader of the American Civil War, Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman, by a naturalist James Wolverton in 1879. Wolverton had served as lieutenant under the command of Sherman on the 9th Indiana Cavalry. This tree is identified as the biggest tree in 1931 when compared with General Grant tree, which is nearby, and decided that the volume of timber is a major determining factor.



9. Dachstein Caves
A 150mil ice tunnels and spooky caverns formed Cave Dachstein, Austria's famous ice caves, located near Lake Hallstatt. Ice stately columns, arches and nails are formed by the swirling air in the ice. More bottom of this cave is a giant glacier, but some of the most stunning scenery can be seen on the way down, in which some parts of ice has formed what looks like a great cathedral of ice. 



10. Aurora Borealis 
Aurora borealis or northern lights phenomenon known as the mysterious yet beautiful nature is said to be one of the greatest treasures in life if you are lucky enough to see this light. The name aurora borealis comes from the Roman goddess of dawn, aurora, and the greek name for north wind, Boreas. There are also aliases southern lights aurora australis - the Latin word for south. This is the result of light photons collide with the earth's solar wind. You will only be lucky enough to see them when you visit certain parts of the northern or southern hemisphere.
