10 State Smallest Ever

Let us call this category of State Mini, a 'state' that gained independence with the super tiny which is not bound by the rules of other countries. They are not widely known like other countries that small territory like the Vatican. There are several reasons for someone to form State Mini, ranging from a mere joke, media, protests, political experiment materials, or criminal purpose. There are even some who are legally recognized by its neighbors, some very silly, some quite interesting.


1. Sealand

Region: 0.00055 km2Population: 27 (2002)Leader: Michael Bates

Mini Sealand is probably the State's most widely known. Perhaps because the story is interesting and a lot disseminated. Sealand is located about 10 km from the coast of England. Originally a fortress in the days of World War II in 1967. Paddy Roy Bates (Knock John) inhabit this place by running a pirate radio station. He and his family later claimed Sealand as a nation, to issue its own passports. Bates claimed Sealand has been recognized de facto by the German and English.There is an interesting event in 1978. When Bates out of the country, Alexander Achenbach who claims to be Prime Minister of Sealand, with some German and Dutch conspiracy, a coup against the region. Bates then asked for military assistance to regain Sealand, until finally Achenbach and his gang were arrested. Because Achenbach has Sealand passport, he was arrested as traitors countries, while accomplices were released.



2. Republic Molossia

Area: 58 km2 
Population: 2-3 
Leader: President Kevin Baugh

Government Molossia near Dayton, Nevada, U.S.. Consists of plot of land owned by Kevin Baugh, the president. Including both the land that he bought in Pennsylvania and California. He dressed dictator, complete with military uniforms and dark glasses. He also admitted a piece of territory in the Pacific ocean and the planet Venus. Molossia actually pay taxes to the U.S., but they are considered 'foreign aid'.


3. Kingdom of Hutt River
 Area: 75 Km2Population: About 20 residents and 13.000 to 18.000 people abroad.Leader: His Royal Highness Prince Leonard I

 The kingdom was founded by Leonard Casley in 1970. Mini country was formed when five large families who have plantations in the province of Hutt River involved a dispute with the Australian government. Families are breaking the rules of the Australian government that limit wheat production is sold legally allowed within a certain time. When this case into court, Casley who was the leader of this family of five, declaring himself as "His Royal Highness Prince Leonard I" to take advantage of the old law that says if violate rules a kingdom, shall be punished as a traitor, then he used this law as an attempt to break away from Australia.


4. Other World Kingdom

 Other World Kingdom comes from a resort in the Czech Republic gained independence. Shaped matriarchy, meaning dipipmpin by a woman. In this kingdom there are castes. Starting from a title of nobility for the pwnguasa all of which are women, the kingdom aims to collect as many men to be the lowest caste, called slaves. This kingdom has a passport, currency, police, flag, and its own national anthem.

5. Waveland

 Area: 784 km2Population: 0Leader: Greenpeace

 

Physically Waveland an uninhabited rock in the middle of the ocean near England. Ownership contested by England, Iceland, and Denmark. In 1997, environmental organizations, Greenpeace, occupy the region and declared a state Waveland. They offer citizenship to anyone who would give an oath of loyalty. This is a form of protest against oil drilling that occurred in the area. The protest lasted until 1999, until funds begin hampered, Waveland was abandoned, that is left is building the lighthouse for seafarers membanu avoid this rock.

6. Grand Duchy of Westarctica

Westarctica is a vast ice shelf in western Antarctica, not proprietary to 2001, when an American, Travis McHenry find gaps in agreements between countries on Antarctica. 8. Rose Island

In 1967, an Italian national engineer, construct a building above the sea near the coast of Rimini, Italy. Floating buildings that have restaurants, nightclubs, and souvenir shops, to attract the tourists. In 1968, Rosa declared its independence from Italy. And the Italian reaction to the separation is quite hard, Rosa's Italian business think this is a criminal, to escape from paying taxes, so that Italy send tax collectors and policemen to secure this region. And then blow it up to vanish from the earth.

9. Operation Atlantis

Operation Atlantis is actually a project of travel of a ship which is headed by Werner Stiefel in 1971, which aims to establish an independent community in international sea areas, free from the control of foreign countries. But the boat trip was very sad. The ship was built at the height of sea water in the Hudson River, but then stranded on the mud at the sea level dropped. With the weight of the ship into the water, almost upside down when passing through the port of New York when the water began to freeze. Propellernya then severely damaged, near South Carolina. 10. Talossa Kingdom
