[cool]Robot Bird Solar Energy Collectors

Float like a robot bird, flying devices are energy producers envisioned by Carlos Campos Yamila Zynda Aiub Architects for Dubai in the sky. Called Wing, "the creatures" uses solar cells to store energy which then is used to illuminate the area beneath them at night in such a collection of star formation.

The project, called Choreographies in the Sky, recently became the fourth winner in the 2010 Land Art Generator Initiative Design Competition. The project is designed to a location adjacent to the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary in Dubai.

While a variety of different formations it is possible, one of the formations that have been designed previously is the "roof of the shadows" size 100x100 m which conjures up images at random throughout the park. Wing is transparent and blue in color during daytime and will light up at night. Each Wing will be equipped with a GPS flight navigator, wind sensors, devices and LED lights photovoltaic panels.
