Court of the United States (U.S.) in Texas, made a big mistake by dropping the death penalty to a man in 1991 ago. After an investigation, it turns out he was not guilty at all. Judge Charlie Baird led the court to decide the evidence submitted in the trial of Cameron Todd Willingham. Willingham himself executed in 2004 after repeatedly appealed, but was rejected.
If the re-examination of evidence on the Willingham case was wrong, the man accused of arson has become the first man found not guilty after put to death. This is the worst in the history of the modern era of U.S. courts.
Forensic expert John Lentini, who examined the case of combustion state, the investigation of Willingham case based on forensic examinations that have not been approved at all.
In 2004, when Willingham was executed very widely known if the techniques and assumptions of the case this guy is very invalid.
"Examination (Willingham) did not even meet the 1991 standards," said Lentini told AFP on Friday (15/10/2010).
Party lawyer representing the family of Willingham also call Bruce Hurst, a forensic expert who filed the report in 2004 on this case. The report questioned the death penalty is used to Willingham.
Meanwhile, Texas Governor Rick Perry refused to cancel the execution of Willingham although Hurst filed a report and evidence to disprove his involvement.
